I’m a portrait photographer based in The Dandenong Ranges, Victoria. Photographing people at any stage of their lives, my work is often described as whimsical and story-telling. Drawing inspiration from children’s books and childhood memories, aiming to capture and create artwork for your home. Looking for connections between people, I do give instruction initially, but after a moment, something real happens. That’s the shot.
My journey as a photographer began when I was fourteen. I was handed a mechanical film camera, a Pentax K1000 and told to go outside and look for the light. I thought, ‘Huh? But it’s everywhere, it’s daytime!’ Little did I understand, I had never really seen light or seen colour before. This was a whole new world. Since that day, in 1995, I don’t think there has been a week pass without a camera in my hands.
Photography is my passion. It’s my language. It’s my life.
